Forward Deployed Product Engineer (AI)

Location: Washington, DC; in-office 4 days per week

Base salary: $210,000–$220,000 per year, plus benefits and potential annual discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own business-critical Global Private Equity applications from discovery and design through implementation, deployment, adoption, and support.
• Build full-stack applications with Python, React, and Next.js, including APIs, services, and data pipelines.
• Integrate enterprise data from Snowflake, third-party market and portfolio data providers, and internal systems.
• Develop LLM copilots, intelligent automation, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows for the investment lifecycle.
• Work directly with Deal Teams and Fund Management to identify high-value problems, prototype solutions, and measure business impact.
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, review designs and code, and guide onshore and offshore delivery teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative concentration preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant software engineering experience with increasing technical scope and ownership.
• Production experience with Python, enterprise data platforms and databases such as Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL.
• Frontend development experience with React and/or Next.js, plus API design, service-oriented architecture, and data pipeline development.
• Experience building or integrating production AI applications using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Strong product judgment, executive communication, technical leadership, and experience working directly with business users.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Bedrock or Anthropic Claude.
• Experience in alternative asset management, private equity, or financial services.
• Experience with embedded or forward-deployed delivery models and coordinating onshore and offshore teams.
• Master’s degree.
