What you will do

• Design and perform complex experiments for pooled gene synthesis and high-throughput enzyme characterization.
• Create DNA sequence libraries and functionalized hydrogel beads using DropSynth and microfluidics.
• Perform DNA manipulation, quality control, bacterial transformation, protein purification, and in vitro transcription and translation.
• Use flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated sorting to assess enzymatic activity.
• Run computational tools for protein and DNA design, sequencing analysis, read alignment, mutation analysis, and barcode counting.
• Document experiments, analyze data, present results, support publications and grants, and train lab members.

Requirements

• University degree in a relevant discipline or technical program, plus at least four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or bioengineering.
• Experience with laboratory equipment, cell and molecular biology procedures, quality control, and laboratory safety.
• Proficiency with electronic laboratory notebooks, inventory systems, digital records, and standard computer software.
• Computational analysis skills, including command-line tools, Python, R, and basic statistics.
• Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, multitasking, and independent problem-solving skills.
