Sr. Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid — Buffalo, NY; Space division site in East Aurora, NY

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually

What you will do

• Prepare, place, expedite, and monitor purchase orders, delivery dates, and schedule commitments.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, and commercial terms to meet program budgets and deadlines.
• Develop sourcing strategies and research alternate suppliers and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Cost, Design, and Program teams to ensure conforming sources of supply.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, on-time delivery, and quality metrics.
• Escalate and resolve supplier issues and prepare sole-source justification and price-analysis documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience, or an associate’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
• Previous experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, including purchase-order placement and schedule management.
• Ability to work in the hybrid Buffalo, NY area and access U.S. export-controlled information.
• Strong communication and supplier negotiation skills.

Nice to have

• Aerospace or defense industry experience.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations.
