Associate, Power & Compute Hardware

Location: Paris, France; office-based with occasional remote days possible.

Salary: €60,000–€70,000 gross annual base salary plus a 10% target bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Research grid hardware, power electronics, energy storage, semiconductors, photonics, and compute infrastructure opportunities.
• Build conviction through deep technical, market, and economic analysis.
• Identify and recruit potential Founders in Residence with relevant technical and domain expertise.
• Work with founders to develop venture ideas, de-risk technologies, and create new companies.
• Support team formation, fundraising, go-to-market planning, manufacturing and supply-chain considerations, and seed-stage roadmaps.
• Contribute to content, events, founder resources, portfolio support, ecosystem relations, and investment decisions.

Requirements

• Technical expertise in device/compute or power/grid domains.
• PhD in Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building hardware that had to work in a real-world environment.
• Commercial orientation across product, customers, economics, deployment, manufacturing, or supply chains.
• Ability to reason from first principles, communicate complex ideas clearly, and defend convictions through memos and presentations.
• English fluency required; French or German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with early-stage startups, deep-tech commercialisation, applied R&D, or industrial technology development.
• Experience using frontier AI tools and human judgment to increase productivity.
• Strong founder intuition, relevant networks, original ideas, exceptional writing skills, or other distinctive strengths.
