Principal Product Manager, 3rd Party App Integration & API/MCP (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California; Atlanta, Georgia; or New York, New York

Base pay: $243,000–$328,500 in Mountain View; $240,000–$325,000 in New York, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year strategy for Mailchimp’s public API platform, developer portal, and official MCP server.
• Lead the federated API platform, developer experience, third-party app lifecycle, and trust and governance strategy.
• Identify partner data objects and events and map them to Mailchimp audiences, events, campaigns, journeys, segments, and automations.
• Modernize the developer portal with interactive documentation, generated SDKs, CLI tooling, sandbox capabilities, MCP integration, and versioned platform status.
• Establish MCP governance covering tools, OAuth scopes, read-only defaults, auditability, certification, and ownership.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Security, Privacy, Partnerships, Support, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience building platforms and APIs at scale.
• Deep knowledge of agentic systems, LLMs, MCP, ML platforms, REST/OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, scopes, rate limiting, webhooks, versioning, sandboxes, and SDK or CLI generation.
• Experience shipping MCP servers or equivalent agent-callable interfaces, or closely related docs-as-code, agent tooling, or CLI work.
• Track record of building capabilities for external developers or partner ecosystems, including marketplace or certification programs.
• Strong architecture, systems thinking, cross-organizational leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience delivering third-party integrations and mapping customer data objects and events to marketing outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-driven platforms, partner ecosystems, or API platforms.
• Martech, ecommerce, or communications-API domain experience.
