Staff Software Engineer - Detection Platform (GoLang)

Location: Remote within the United States

Compensation: $200,000–$220,000 base salary plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Modernize the detection engine to support the full Sigma v2 specification, including stateful correlation across events over time.
• Rework existing detection pipelines and build new pipelines on a common platform.
• Lead validation and staged migration approaches that prove replacement pipelines behave equivalently before legacy paths are retired.
• Build observability, end-to-end latency measurement, liveness coverage, and alerting for silent pipeline failures.
• Develop mechanisms to keep detection-volume spikes bounded and recoverable.
• Drive coherent event schemas, data contracts, validation tooling, and drift detection across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Deep experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems at scale, primarily in Go.
• Experience substantially re-architecting live, high-throughput systems without breaking consumers.
• Experience with high-volume event or data pipelines and their behavior under load.
• Strong observability and operability practices, including alerting for the absence of expected work.
• Technical leadership across team boundaries and experience setting direction for other engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a security-focused approach to correctness.

Nice to have

• Security operations or security engineering experience, including writing or tuning detections.
• Experience with detection-as-code, rule-driven systems, parsing, and DSL evaluation.
• Experience building tooling for rule writers, analysts, or researchers.
• Ruby on Rails experience.
