Diagnostics Serviceability Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Drive Design for Serviceability and service readiness across vehicle products.
• Define diagnostics requirements for electronic control modules and I/O in collaboration with Manufacturing, Validation, and Product Development.
• Design, develop, and validate on-board and off-board diagnostic tools for codes, alerts, and control functions.
• Establish technical requirements and process flows for controller programming tools.
• Develop diagnostic, programming, and repair procedures with the Service Documentation team.
• Improve wiring serviceability, schematics, and troubleshooting workflows using feedback from field technicians.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Automotive Technology.
• 5+ years of relevant vehicle diagnostics experience.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools or experience designing diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with vehicle communication protocols including CAN and LIN.
• Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts.
• Experience designing and developing products through their lifecycle, including product and process validation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with service information, diagnostics, or technical authoring.
• Practical technical or field diagnostic experience.
