Specialist, Garage E/E Technician (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs based on an iconic American vehicle brand, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

• Perform prototype vehicle teardown, reassembly, modification, and preparation for durability, functional, and integration testing.
• Install and integrate electrical and mechanical prototype components, including ECUs, sensors, actuators, and power-distribution components.
• Build, repair, route, and protect automotive wiring harnesses; perform pinning, de-pinning, crimping, and soldering.
• Diagnose power, grounding, short-circuit, open-circuit, and communication faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and CAN/LIN analyzers.
• Support CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and automotive Ethernet network validation, ECU flashing, replacement, and system bring-up.
• Fabricate brackets, mounts, breakout harnesses, and test leads to keep prototype systems robust, serviceable, and test-ready.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in automotive garage work, prototype builds, or vehicle electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or comparable hands-on experience and technical expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience with mechanical vehicle teardown and reassembly, automotive electrical systems, and wiring.
• Ability to troubleshoot root causes, interpret wiring diagrams and schematics, and work on incomplete and evolving prototype vehicles.
• Ability to work 4–5 days per week at the Novi location and participate in occasional company events and travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAN/LIN diagnostics and logging tools such as Vector or Kvaser.
• Exposure to Automotive Ethernet, SDV, zonal E/E architectures, or modern vehicle networks.
• Experience in prototype, motorsport, or pre-production environments.
• Basic ECU flashing and configuration experience.
