Microbiologist I

Location: Onsite in Lincolnshire, Illinois, United States

Salary: USD 22–25 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct microbiological analyses of raw materials, finished products, water, and other samples.
• Apply USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, client-provided, and non-routine analytical procedures.
• Prepare media and reagents and practice aseptic techniques and disinfection according to laboratory SOPs.
• Schedule analyses, maintain accurate records, and document activities in notebooks, LIMS, and cGMP records.
• Perform quality assurance activities, including laboratory monitoring, media qualification, equipment calibration, maintenance, and sterilization.
• Maintain an orderly laboratory area and complete related data-entry and administrative tasks.

Requirements

• BS degree in Microbiology or a related science.
• 1–2 years of sterility-testing experience.
• Experience using autoclaves, incubators, water baths, biohazard hoods, filtration apparatus, balances, and pH meters.
• Ability to work independently under the guidance of laboratory supervisors and managers.
• Ability to document data accurately and follow laboratory procedures, standards, and SOPs.
