TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer, Supercell ID (Backend) (Java): Designing and operating a scalable, highly available, and secure account platform connecting hundreds of millions of players across Supercell games and services with an accent on identity, account safety, reliability, and trust. Focus on owning architecture through production operation, building multi-region systems, and solving complex security and availability challenges.
Location: Helsinki, Finland — onsite; relocation support is available.

What you will do
- Design, build, and operate a scalable, highly available, and secure platform for hundreds of millions of players.
- Own systems end to end, from architecture decisions through production operation.
- Drive significant technical evolutions of ID and lead high-impact initiatives through planning, delivery, and operation.
- Collaborate with game teams, Player Care, Trust & Safety, Legal, and other stakeholders to define requirements.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production support.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills; Java and DynamoDB are used in the role.
- Experience owning and operating business-critical systems, including failure design, observability, and production incident response.
- A security mindset with the ability to identify threats and vulnerabilities during system design.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Proficiency with modern AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience driving cross-team projects and collaborating with non-engineering stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with identity and authentication systems, including OAuth, OIDC, and session management.
- Experience building multi-region systems with high availability goals.
- Experience developing AI-assisted engineering workflows or tooling.
