Senior Java Developer (AdTech)

Location: Holborn, London, with hybrid working

What you will do

• Define and deliver backend services and APIs for booking, ad-serving, and related platform products.
• Design, build, and maintain services using modern Java and Spring Boot.
• Work across discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization.
• Improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of live services.
• Guide and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, design, engineering, and operations teams.
• Enhance testing, deployment, monitoring, and production-support practices.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java and modern Spring or Spring Boot.
• Experience applying clean-code principles and contract-first design.
• Hands-on experience deploying and running services in containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing across multiple layers.
• Ability to take ownership of problems from concept and design through implementation and production rollout.
• Effective collaboration and communication in cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of modern Java language features, production support, and incident management.
