What you will do

• Provide mental health counseling and crisis intervention for individuals, couples, and groups.
• Assess clients independently, create treatment plans, deliver clinical services, and coordinate referrals and case management.
• Manage complex and high-risk situations, including risk assessment and hospitalization when appropriate.
• Provide or supervise psychological assessments and clinical or administrative supervision for staff and graduate trainees.
• Deliver outreach, presentations, workshops, consultation, and training for students, faculty, staff, families, and campus partners.
• Contribute to program development, departmental committees, continuous improvement, and professional presentations.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or another degree accepted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
• At least five years of full-time-equivalent independent licensure experience in a college or university counseling center or relevant setting.
• Licensed Psychologist certification required; Texas psychologist licensure must be obtained within one year of employment and maintained thereafter.
• Clinical expertise in multiculturally informed counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, program coordination, training, and supervision.
• Ability to work as a generalist, manage multiple priorities, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain timely documentation.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for outreach and crisis response. FERPA and HIPAA training is required upon employment and on a recurring basis.

Nice to have

• Seven or more years of experience providing mental health services in a college or university setting.
• Experience supervising or training doctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, or early-career clinicians.
• Experience with psychological assessments, group therapy, outreach programming, and consultation services.
• Ability to provide counseling in more than one language used by A&M students.
• Training in evidence-based practices or related areas of specialization.
