Activities Director (Assisted Living)

What you will do

• Plan and lead daily programs, special events, holiday celebrations, and trips for assisted living residents.
• Create programming across seven wellness areas: physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, vocational, and environmental.
• Develop partnerships with internal departments and community organizations to expand program offerings.
• Build rapport with residents and encourage participation while respecting individuality, diversity, spirituality, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Prepare monthly event calendars, newsletters, flyers, bulletin boards, and digital signs according to brand standards.
• Manage the department budget, equipment, supplies, records, hiring, training, mentoring, and supervision of department employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to three-plus years of related experience may qualify.
• Experience leading small or large group events or programs.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite, Outlook Email, online learning portals, and social media.
• Acceptable fluency in English is required for speaking, reading, writing, and workplace communication.
• Ability and license to drive an automobile are required.
• Ability to lead programs independently, adapt to schedule disruptions, and maintain a positive professional demeanor.

Nice to have

• Event planning and community partnership coordination experience.
• Fitness certification, musical ability, or artistic skills.
