What you will do
- Perform steady-state analysis of the Florida transmission system to verify reliability requirements.
- Support compliance with NERC Transmission Planning Reliability Standards and maintain compliance documentation.
- Prepare filings related to FERC Orders and provide comments on Notices of Proposed Rulemaking.
- Support FRCC regulatory and compliance efforts and coordinate with FRCC staff and members.
- Address Florida Public Service Commission transmission-planning requirements and relevant state regulations.
- Participate in inter-utility working groups, regional reliability meetings, and transmission-planning support activities.
Requirements
- Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Must live within 50 miles of the designated facility.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; a Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for the bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of engineering experience for Engineer II or at least 4 years for Engineer III.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to support emergency storm restoration, including extended working hours when required.
Nice to have
- Passing grade on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Programming experience with Python, batch files, or Visual Basic.
- Experience in the electric utility industry or in transmission planning, NERC compliance, FERC compliance, or OATT-related work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
