Chemical Operator Trainee (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Ashtabula, Ohio, USA; onsite work in a chemical manufacturing environment

What you will do

• Support chemical manufacturing operations by following established processes, safe work practices, PPE requirements, and Zero Harm principles.
• Record and assess production data in batch sheets, batch tickets, operator logs, checklists, and inspection forms.
• Monitor gauges, equipment, tanks, vessels, and utility systems, including steam, cooling, pressure, temperature, and level controls.
• Use the DCS to obtain tank and vessel readings and communicate process status and issues during shift changes.
• Trace process lines, label and handle process waste streams, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with line and vessel preparations for permits and follow emergency procedures for plant operations.

Requirements

• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification.
• Basic computer skills and demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to apply basic principles of chemistry, pressure, temperature, and material properties to chemical process operations.
• Ability to read and understand process batch sheets, process instruction logs, SDSs, and emergency procedures.
