Entry Chemical Operator (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Pennsville, New Jersey, United States; onsite in a chemical manufacturing plant

Starting rate: $31.08 per hour

What you will do

• Operate reactors, kettles, stills, filters, centrifuges, pumps, and other chemical production equipment.
• Monitor temperature, pressure, vacuum, and flow indicators and make corrective equipment adjustments.
• Maintain batch records, label containers, collect samples, and perform basic analytical tests including pH, ash, LOD, and Kf.
• Report process deviations, support investigations and emergencies, and assist with process and equipment validation.
• Handle waste disposal, housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and safe operation of forklifts and hand trucks.
• Follow safety, environmental, quality, cGMP, and standard operating procedure requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior bulk pharmaceutical or batch chemical experience is required.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform calculations such as yields and batch ratios.
• Ability to operate computer-controlled equipment, follow written and verbal instructions, and work accurately.
• Ability to work onsite in a chemical manufacturing plant, obtain respiratory clearance, and remain clean-shaven when a face respirator is required.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, climb stairs, stand for long periods, work in extreme temperatures, operate in-plant vehicles, and work overtime.
