Printing Press Operator 1 (Offset Printing)

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single- or multi-color offset presses.
• Complete make-ready tasks, including plate or cylinder installation, blanket preparation, tension adjustment, and register alignment.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet production quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform manufacturer-recommended maintenance on the press.
• Carry out minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts as needed.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine the materials and press setup required.
• Knowledge of press capabilities, packing pressure, feeder and feed-board adjustments, and register correction.
• Experience using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
