Research Technician (Carbon Materials)

What you will do

• Plan experiments and generate data from bench-scale and pilot-plant studies.
• Operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment involving carbon materials and process technologies.
• Participate in plant trials supporting product development, process improvement, and facility expansion.
• Document experimental results and communicate findings with operations, business development, engineers, scientists, and team members.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory and working environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related scientific field.
• At least one year of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process control, accurate chemical weighing and measurement, laboratory equipment, SOPs, and experimental designs.
• Ability to work with fine powders, hazardous organic solvents, and acids and bases in a laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, organization, reporting, analytical skills, and time management.
• Ability to work on-site full time at the North Charleston facility; remote work is not available.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with dispersion characterization.
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and Microsoft Excel.
