Project Engineer - Power & Renewables (Geotechnical Engineering)

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; flexibility to work from home or in an office environment; travel up to 15% of the time.

Compensation: $88,000–$131,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop scopes of work and proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical projects in the power and renewable energy sector.
• Review field logs and soil samples, classify materials, and prepare boring logs.
• Perform engineering analyses using company and industry methodologies and prepare geotechnical recommendations and reports for senior review.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, safety, resources, and client expectations.
• Review staff work, investigate quality issues, and coordinate regional operations, staffing, and workloads.
• Support wind-sector client relationships, field testing, observations, technician training, and field operations as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Professional Engineer registration/licensure or the ability to obtain it within two years.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, customer service, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, time-critical environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
