Major Project Civil Engineer (Staff, Senior, or Principal)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States. On-site presence is required at least three days per week through site commissioning, followed by a hybrid office arrangement.

Salary: $81,000–$156,600 per year, depending on the Staff, Senior, or Principal level.

What you will do

• Support the design and construction of utility-scale renewable and dispatchable electric generation facilities.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, Operations, construction teams, and company engineers.
• Develop and review designs, calculations, testing documentation, reports, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, regulatory activities, inspections, and commissioning.
• Lead or coordinate project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
• Support bidding, technical proposal evaluations, budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; civil engineering is preferred.
• Staff level: 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; EIT/FE is strongly preferred.
• Senior level: 5+ years of relevant experience with EIT/FE, or 7+ years without EIT/FE; PE registration may be required.
• Principal level: 9+ years of relevant experience with PE registration, or 15+ years without PE registration.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, solve problems proactively, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work on site in Denver at least three days per week until commissioning is complete, followed by hybrid office work.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-scale wind, solar, battery storage, combustion turbine, or reciprocating engine projects.
• Experience sizing foundations and interpreting geotechnical reports.
• Experience overseeing construction and commissioning of utility equipment.
