Transportation Advisor (Logistics)

Location: Hybrid position in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus and work onsite four days per week.

Salary: $5,960.29–$9,834.48 per month.

What you will do

• Advise transportation leadership and decision-makers on complex operational, strategic, policy, and program questions.
• Analyze purchased transportation data and industry trends to develop fact-based recommendations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve the consistency and efficiency of transportation processes.
• Build and maintain cross-functional internal and external relationships supporting transportation initiatives.
• Develop program metrics, training materials, presentations, communications, and process recommendations.
• Mentor employees on transportation functions and influence initiatives aligned with department goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with four years of logistics experience in lieu of the degree.
• At least six years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related area.
• Extensive knowledge of purchased transportation concepts, practices, and industry trends.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with SQL, database technology, data visualization, and SAS.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in the hybrid Pittsburgh arrangement, including four days per week at the hirify.global campus.

Nice to have

• Macro creation experience and knowledge of transportation management systems.
• Experience with supplier governance, performance management, business reviews, and improvement plans.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and the transportation market.
