Forklift Mechanic

Location: Delano, California, USA; onsite. Local travel is required approximately 30% of the time.

Salary: $33.06–$37.49 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, component replacements, and troubleshooting on Hyster, Nissan, Toyota, Crown, and related material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LP, steering, transmission, engine, circuit board, and other system components.
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot complex systems on internal-combustion and electric trucks.
• Perform engine tune-ups and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Use service and trade tools properly, identify and order replacement parts, and complete required written or electronic paperwork.
• Operate the service vehicle safely and assist with on-the-job training for apprentice mechanics.

Requirements

• At least two years of proven experience repairing and maintaining powered industrial trucks.
• High school diploma, GED, or technical school education preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• A valid current driver's license must be maintained; driving is an essential function.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and regularly lift up to 10 pounds or frequently lift 11–50 pounds.
