Maintenance Electrician (PLC)

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; continental night shift from 18:30 to 6:30

Pay rate: $44.00 CAD per hour, plus a potential shift premium for eligible hours

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment breakdowns.
• Respond to breakdown calls as the primary or backup electrician.
• Design, sketch, and install electrical services for machinery, with or without electrical drawings.
• Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on radio frequency generators using PLC knowledge.
• Collaborate with industrial mechanics on machinery repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate wiring documentation and follow preventative maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience, including apprenticeship hours.
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Ontario Grade 12 equivalency.
• Valid provincial Industrial Electrician certification, license 442A.
• PLC knowledge and practical experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for identifying root causes of complex machine failures.
• Proof of apprenticeship and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Science.
• Manufacturing experience in a GMP environment or in the food industry.
• Experience with radio frequency heat-sealing welding processes.
• Practical experience with Lean tools such as 6S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
