Consultant — Forensic Investigations

What you will do

• Carry out forensic analyses under the direction of senior colleagues.
• Reconcile and reconstruct accounting records and test transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations for manipulation indicators.
• Prepare, cleanse, and analyse structured accounting and ERP data alongside unstructured e-mail and chat data.
• Conduct document review in eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity and quality-check coding decisions.
• Research corporate registries, public filings, court records, and open sources.
• Prepare evidentiary working papers, draft deliverable sections, and create exhibits, tables, and charts.

Requirements

• Two to four years of relevant experience in audit, forensic services, internal audit, compliance, transaction services, or data analytics.
• University degree in business administration, accounting, economics, finance, law, information systems, data science, or a comparable subject.
• Confident Excel skills and a genuine interest in working with data.
• Precision, stamina, and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Fluent German and English required.
• Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally internationally.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SQL, Python, Alteryx, or Relativity.
• Professional qualifications such as CFE, CPA, or ACCA.
