Staff Test Development Engineer - Software and Automation (Robotics)

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect, implement, deploy, and maintain software tools for manufacturing test frameworks, automation, and control strategies.
• Develop verification capabilities for configuration, diagnosis, calibration, data management, visualization, and operator interaction.
• Industrialize prototype test benches into stable, scalable, repeatable End-of-Line manufacturing test systems.
• Own test software and automation for board flashing, device calibration, and functional verification on the production floor.
• Debug and improve test systems, reducing execution time, false failures, and production downtime.
• Develop, execute, and analyze hands-on test stands for robotic hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience integrating and deploying custom mechatronic systems for real-world applications.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for debugging and automation scripting.
• Strong understanding of databases and SQL, plus experience with Linux-based systems and Git.
• Experience integrating cobots, robotic arms, motion controllers, or actuators with automated test fixtures.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, aerospace, precision actuators, or high-performance electromechanical systems.
• Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, Arena, or Enovia.
• Familiarity with SPC, yield tracking, MES integration, PLC programming, industrial automation, firmware, or camera calibration.
