Test Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design and build end-to-end test systems for robotic hands and hand components, including fixtures, instrumentation, electrical interfaces, controls, software, and safety mechanisms.
• Translate engineering requirements into repeatable validation methods for sensors, motors, motor-control electronics, structures, and complete hand assemblies.
• Develop test software and control logic to configure profiles, communicate with embedded hardware, collect telemetry, automate test progression, and detect issues in real time.
• Own hands-on test execution from equipment bring-up through device integration, monitoring, troubleshooting, inspections, and safe operation.
• Analyze telemetry and instrumentation data, identify anomalies and failure signatures, and produce concise engineering reports with recommended next steps.
• Build reusable test architectures and investigate failures to improve validation coverage and engineering throughput.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience developing and integrating test systems for complex electromechanical products.
• Experience with sensors, electric motors, motor-control electronics, wiring, structural components, and embedded control systems.
• Ability to write test software, develop test profiles, interface controls with embedded hardware, and modify device-under-test software when needed.
• Experience with telemetry, real-time signals, automated testing, diagnostics, or closed-loop control.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, power supplies, microcontrollers, wiring, relays, actuators, sensors, and custom test fixtures.

Nice to have

• Experience testing robotic hands, grippers, actuators, precision mechanisms, or other high-degree-of-freedom electromechanical systems.
• Experience developing automated fault detection, health monitoring, or telemetry-based diagnostics.
• Experience with long-duration, durability, reliability, environmental, thermal, humidity, or vibration testing.
