Multi Skilled Engineer (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Warrington, UK; onsite role in a live production environment.

What you will do

• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across production lines.
• Use the CMMS engineering activity planning system to manage maintenance activities, stock control, and system availability.
• Audit machinery safety standards and resolve issues with operational teams.
• Apply Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methods to eliminate recurring faults.
• Manage contractor controls using Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout processes.
• Liaise with suppliers on specifications and component procurement while mentoring Associate Engineers and Engineering Support Operatives.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship-trained and electrically qualified, preferably with a multi-skilled engineering background.
• City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with PLC fault finding and knowledge of PLC control principles.
• Working knowledge of health and safety standards in a live operational environment.
• Hazard and Risk Assessment qualification, isolation and check-for-dead capability, or understanding of dynamic risk assessment.
• Understanding of Root Cause Analysis, continuous improvement, and MS Office and Google Docs tools.

Nice to have

• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or warehouse and production automation systems.
• IOSH qualification.
• PUWER, LOLER, and Manual Handling training.
