Engineering Manager (HVAC)

Location: Newberry, South Carolina, United States. Hybrid schedule with onsite work Monday through Thursday and a flexible work location on Fridays; up to 10% travel.

Annual base salary: $102,000–$182,630.

What you will do

• Lead the new product development team for Trane Modular Chillers.
• Prioritize internal and external customer needs and allocate engineering resources across new product development, productivity, quality, and reliability projects.
• Provide guidance and leadership to product engineers, designers, lab technicians, and support staff.
• Ensure the integrity of engineering and design work.
• Define direct-report skill requirements and lead recruitment efforts.
• Manage project resource allocations and budgets, and support projects at various locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience applying hardware components in refrigeration systems, such as coils, fans, compressors, motors, or controls.
• Understanding of HVAC functions, including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and ventilation.
• Leadership skills for influencing cross-functional teams and delivering business results without direct authority.
• Strong problem-solving, attention-to-detail, project management, and product development skills.
• Ability to quickly understand, condense, and organize information for engineering decisions.
