TL;DR
Manager, Controls Engineering (HVAC): Leading the design, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of HVAC control systems and electrical controls architectures with an accent on PLC/DDC programming, controls standards, and technical team leadership. Focus on reviewing control architectures and electrical designs, supporting manufacturing and field commissioning, and solving escalated controls issues across production and customer environments.

Location: Redmond, Oregon, United States. The role works across office, lab, manufacturing, production-floor, and test-facility environments; hybrid flexibility may be available depending on project needs and company policy.

Pay range: $111,348–$167,023 annually.

What you will do

  • Lead, manage, and develop Controls Engineers and Controls Technicians.
  • Set department goals, priorities, staffing plans, standards, and performance expectations.
  • Provide technical authority for HVAC controls, PLC programming, and DDC controls.
  • Review controls architectures, sequences of operation, electrical designs, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and R&D teams.
  • Support manufacturing, commissioning, startup activities, escalated field issues, automation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred 8–15 years of controls engineering experience and 3–5 years of leadership experience.
  • Expert knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation systems.
  • Strong PLC and DDC programming experience.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, NEC, UL, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards.
  • Ability to develop and review sequences of operation and electrical schematics, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage multiple projects.
