TL;DR
Senior Digital Forensics and Incident Response Engineer (Cybersecurity): Investigating identity theft, account takeover, fraud, and enterprise cyber incidents with an accent on forensic analysis, root-cause identification, and scalable investigative automation. Focus on developing Splunk detections and dashboards, correlating real-time incident data, improving response workflows, and supporting remediation of high-profile infrastructure incidents.

Location: Remote, but the selected candidate must reside within 60 minutes of Louisville, NYC Metro, Dallas Metro, Charlotte NC Metro, South Florida, Washington DC Metro, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, or Nashville, or be willing to relocate to one of these locations. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $117,600–$161,700 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Lead investigations into identity theft, account takeover, and related fraud activities.
  • Conduct digital forensic analysis to identify attack methods, vulnerabilities, and root causes.
  • Coordinate incident response and remediation activities across cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve automation, detection capabilities, and investigative workflows for scalable threat response.
  • Collect, correlate, and analyze real-time forensic data and prepare investigative reports for leadership.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and support broader enterprise digital forensics and incident response initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of cybersecurity experience.
  • At least 3 years of digital forensics and/or incident response experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Splunk, including query authoring, alerting, and dashboard development.
  • Residence within 60 minutes of one of the specified U.S. metropolitan locations, or willingness to relocate to one of them.
  • A dedicated home workspace and high-speed wired internet are required; minimum speed is 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. Satellite and wireless internet are not allowed.
  • Participation in a mandatory on-call rotation is required.

Nice to have

  • At least 5 years of digital forensics experience with FTK, Axiom, EnCase, or other forensic tools.
  • GIAC/SANS GCFE, GCFA, GIME, or GASF certification.
  • At least 2 years of cloud forensics or incident response experience.
  • Experience investigating artificial intelligence systems.
