TL;DR
Cable Harness Specialist (Subsea) (Marine Wiring Harnesses): Designing and building high-reliability marine wiring harnesses for subsea systems with an accent on precision termination, harsh-environment electrical design, and traceable testing. Focus on pressure-proofing and hipot testing assemblies, creating build standards, and troubleshooting electrical faults across prototype and deployed hardware.

Location: Seattle, WA, United States; on-site

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 per year plus equity

Company

hirify.global is a pre-revenue startup developing modular subsea geothermal power plants that convert ocean thermal resources into baseload power.

What you will do

  • Partner with the Harness Engineer to design and manufacture high-reliability submarine wiring harnesses for subsea deployment and test systems.
  • Perform precision cutting, stripping, crimping, splicing, soldering, and overmolding.
  • Select connectors, wire types, shielding, and routing for subsea and harsh environments, applying grounding, EMI mitigation, and signal integrity practices.
  • Set up assembly and test workspaces, design tooling, build harnesses, and perform pressure-proof and hipot testing.
  • Record traceable test results in the MES system and document builds, issues, and fixes for engineering and QA.
  • Write work instructions and build-and-test standards, train team members, maintain inventory, and troubleshoot electrical faults.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and troubleshooting complex wiring harnesses as an electronics or electrical technician, or in a similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of connectors, crimping, splicing, shielding, grounding, cable management, and overmolding.
  • Strong soldering skills, including fine-pitch and board-level work.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and dimensional layout drawings.
  • Experience with hipot testing, digital multimeters, milli-ohm meters, and insulation testers.
  • Ability to create work instructions, train others, work independently in a rapidly changing prototype environment, and lift 50 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience building harnesses for marine, subsea, or aerospace systems.
  • Experience pressure-proofing or pressure-testing subsea assemblies.
  • IPC standards knowledge or certification, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC J-STD.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employees receive equity as a meaningful part of compensation.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible PTO, and 12 paid company holidays.
  • Opportunities for global fieldwork, sea trials, and deployment operations with oceanographic institutions.
  • Hands-on work spanning high-power electronics, marine systems, and clean energy.
  • Company-sponsored recreational dive certification, access to the company boat, free meals, and snacks.
