Head of Workplace IT (Fintech)

Location: Based in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, or the UK; hybrid role with significant travel across operating markets, potentially up to 25%

What you will do

• Own the Workplace IT roadmap across networks, telephony, end-user computing, identity, productivity tools, and service management.
• Lead and develop a multi-country Workplace IT team supporting more than 2,500 employees across offices, warehouses, retail sites, and call centres.
• Manage operating and capital budgets, vendor relationships, licensing, connectivity, hardware, telephony, and SaaS spend.
• Oversee network monitoring, on-premises infrastructure, server rooms, power, cooling, physical security, CCTV, and meeting-room systems.
• Drive endpoint security, patching, vulnerability remediation, identity controls, access recertification, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Establish service standards, adoption practices, feedback loops, SLAs, and performance metrics for internal IT services.

Requirements

• Proven leadership of a multi-site IT function at scale, preferably across multiple countries.
• Strong commercial and vendor-management experience with ISPs, telecommunications providers, hardware suppliers, SaaS vendors, or MSPs.
• Strong understanding of identity, endpoint, network security, network monitoring, and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience leading a Workplace IT team or demonstrable readiness to progress from a related individual contributor or management role.
• Comfort operating in high-growth, emerging-market environments with a user-focused approach.
• Relevant degrees and certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, or cloud/network certifications are desirable but not required.
