Director, Finance - Connected Products (IoT)

Location: Hybrid schedule based in Deerfield, Illinois, with the flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

Salary: $140,000–$220,000 USD base salary, plus an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Build financial planning, forecasting, reporting, governance, and performance-management processes for the Connected Products business.
• Develop capabilities for revenue forecasting, customer programs and rebates, sourcing and inventory planning, standard costing, and purchase price variance management.
• Partner with Connected Water, Connected Security, Technology, engineering, product, commercial, operations, and executive leaders.
• Support investment decisions, resource allocation, growth strategies, and return measurement across hardware, software, subscriptions, and emerging technologies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting while balancing capability building with changing business priorities.
• Coach and develop finance professionals while improving engagement, accountability, and performance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
• Experience supporting connected products, consumer technology, IoT, software-enabled hardware, SaaS, or other technology-driven businesses.
• Success building financial capabilities, processes, and reporting structures in high-growth, emerging, or transformational environments.
• Experience balancing entrepreneurial innovation with public-company governance and financial discipline.
• Strong business partnership, executive communication, influence, judgment, and team-development skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle EPM, or similar systems is preferred.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, or CMA.
• Experience in smart-home, security, water management, or IoT industries.
• Familiarity with SaaS, device-as-a-service, and retention/cohort modeling.
