TL;DR
Associate Technical Support Analyst (Storage/Backups/Linux) (IT infrastructure): Providing first-level support for network services, servers, security appliances, applications, and healthcare IT infrastructure with an accent on onsite troubleshooting, backup power, virtualization, and user access. Focus on supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers, maintaining server and network environments, mitigating vulnerabilities, and executing disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
Location: Onsite at the Information Technology Center, 315 Point Marion Road, Morgantown, West Virginia, United States; travel to other WVUHS facilities or affiliated sites is required, with possible on-call phone or onsite response.

What you will do
- Provide first-level and basic second-level support for networks, servers, security appliances, PCs, applications, and healthcare information systems.
- Install and rack network and security appliances, run and terminate data cabling, monitor UPS systems, and maintain infrastructure documentation.
- Assist with Windows, Linux, physical, Nutanix, Hyper-V, and VMware server infrastructure, including troubleshooting and system consolidation projects.
- Work with customers and Tier 2/Tier 3 engineers to diagnose application, user-access, video-conferencing, and technical infrastructure issues.
- Support vulnerability testing, threat mitigation, change management, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
- Maintain IT inventory and enterprise records in systems such as Workday and ServiceNow.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus two years of networking and server-platform experience.
- Generalist knowledge of servers, networks, security, applications, PCs, Windows operating systems, and healthcare information systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot networks, security appliances, servers, Windows PCs, and applications while working independently or with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of change management processes and ITIL; experience with end users, ticketing, and cross-team coordination is preferred.
- Ability to travel to affiliated sites, work onsite, respond to on-call assignments, and lift at least 50 pounds.
Nice to have
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Server+ certification.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, ServiceNow, Workday, and healthcare or EHR applications.
