Senior Systems Engineer (Cryptographic Systems)

What you will do

• Architect, implement, and support high-assurance cryptographic and key management systems for secure communications, remote rekey, and lifecycle management.
• Develop system requirements and architecture across software, firmware, and hardware disciplines.
• Modernize legacy C baselines and design Rust-based embedded solutions for security- and safety-critical environments.
• Support system and security verification, validation, testing, and formal NSA High Assurance certification.
• Prepare and deliver technical artifacts including system specifications, interface documents, security evaluation documents, test plans, verification procedures, and user manuals.
• Support design reviews, program documentation, technical direction, proposal development, and strategic business growth activities.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 7 years of experience in a related field, including work in multidisciplinary teams and full-lifecycle product development.
• Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, configuration management, the DoD Acquisition Process for Engineering and Manufacturing Development, and enterprise requirements management tools such as DOORS or Visure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Strong communication, technical writing, document development, customer interaction, prioritization, and complex-task leadership skills.

Nice to have

• 10 or more years of embedded development or related experience.
• Top Secret clearance, Model Based Digital Engineering, and SysML experience.
• Cryptographic product development, DoD communications security, KMI, EKMS, or COMSEC experience.
• NSA High Assurance certification and FIPS 140-3 experience.
