Principal COMSEC Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in Warrenton, Virginia, USA; approximately 5% travel may be required, with rare non-standard hours to support mission-critical customer needs.

What you will do

• Operate a COMSEC operations center supporting High Assurance COMSEC key distribution and the full lifecycle of electronic key requirements.
• Provide cryptographic support for communication networks and troubleshoot equipment and electronic key issues for off-site locations.
• Use Tier 2 distribution systems, including CARDS and KMI, and maintain COMSEC equipment such as STE, Viper, KG-240/250, RASKL KIK-30, SDS KIK-20, and SKL AN/PYQ-10.
• Monitor incoming COMSEC requests, resolve problems, and support customer vendors and government-agency coordination.
• Support monthly COMSEC training, facility tours, employee orientation, customer metrics, and system testing for new capabilities.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead problem resolution, work independently, multitask, and integrate into a small, highly functional on-site team.
• Willingness to work occasional non-standard hours when required by mission-critical customer needs.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience with current COMSEC equipment and management systems.
• Experience with KMI, iApp, MGC, AKP, CARDS, electronic key ordering and distribution, key loaders, TrKEK creation, emergency key restoration, and in-person user support.
• KMI certification, COMSEC training or briefing, and familiarity with a Central Office of Record.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
