Engineering Team Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Lead a squad of 6–9 engineers as a player-coach focused on predictable delivery.
• Optimize the team’s idea-to-production cycle and identify delivery risks.
• Conduct 1:1s, support performance calibration, participate in hiring, and plan succession.
• Spend approximately 50% of the role on system design and 20% on development activities such as code reviews and resolving technical blockers.
• Mediate interpersonal and cross-team conflicts and coordinate critical incident response.
• Lead adoption of agentic tooling, LLM workflows, and AI automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Recent experience shipping production code and the ability to debug production issues hands-on.
• Desire to lead people while remaining an active technical contributor.
• Strong emotional intelligence, resilience under pressure, and the ability to unblock teams.
• Strong technical judgment for evaluating estimates, designs, and delivery risks.
