Engineering Team Lead, Learning (AI)

Location: Copenhagen or London office, or remote within European time zones

What you will do

• Lead a team of three to five engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Own the Learning domain end to end, including architecture, data models, quality, performance, technical debt, and on-call health.
• Spend approximately half of the time writing code and reviewing changes across the TypeScript-based frontend, backend, and mobile stack.
• Work with product and design to break the roadmap into shippable increments, manage scope, and deliver predictably.
• Improve AI-assisted development practices through agent workflows, review flows, evaluations, and team standards.
• Collaborate on shared architecture and engineering standards across Learning, scheduling, employee data, communications, and AI.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.
• Previous experience leading engineers as a team lead, manager, or tech lead with responsibility for team output.
• Ability to design highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment with pragmatic, fast-moving development.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Based within European time zones, working from the Copenhagen or London office or remotely.

Nice to have

• NestJS experience.
• MongoDB experience.
• Experience with Learning, LMS, e-learning, or other content-heavy products.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features to production, including evaluations and guardrails.
