Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Springvale Facility, Belfast, United Kingdom; onsite role.

Salary starting from £68,172 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of more than 20 engineers.
• Design and continuously improve safe, compliant, sustainable manufacturing processes across logistics, assembly, testing, and paint operations.
• Drive quality improvement through defect prevention, root-cause corrective actions, error-proofing, and improved First Test Pass performance.
• Lead line balancing and capacity planning through the S&OP cycle to meet demand, cost, efficiency, and throughput targets.
• Manage engineering budgets and resources, including an approximately $2M team budget, workforce planning for more than 200 employees, and annual capital programmes worth $2M–$5M.
• Develop engineering strategies and collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Significant experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, product development, process optimization, quality systems, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, RCA, 8D, or similar methodologies.
• Experience managing complex engineering projects, budgets, resources, schedules, and product launches.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, communication, change leadership, performance management, and succession-planning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in heavy manufacturing, off-highway, automotive, aerospace, or a similar sector.
• Lean Six Sigma or project management certification.
• Knowledge of automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and data-driven engineering.
• Experience leading leaders and familiarity with hirify.global manufacturing systems, NPI processes, and enterprise quality systems.
