R&D Graduate Intern

Location: On-site in Madison, Wisconsin, United States

Salary: $38 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Perform research laboratory activities under moderate supervision while following protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Design and execute experiments, interpret data, and communicate results during team meetings.
• Develop methods or products and conduct expression screens to produce proteins at multiple scales.
• Purify recombinant proteins using automated chromatography systems.
• Characterize in-process samples using biochemical, electrophoretic, chromatographic, spectrophotometric, and light-scattering methods.
• Complete project plans according to defined timelines and budgets.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• Previous experience with recombinant protein expression and purification.
• Exposure to automated single-use or stainless-steel bioreactors and control software, protein expression systems, aseptic technique, or AKTA systems and UNICORN software.
• Ability to work on-site in Madison, Wisconsin.
