Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer - Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE)

Location: On site in New Albany, Ohio or Roanoke, Virginia; schedule flexibility is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $89,000–$110,000 for SG7 or $110,000–$129,000 for Senior SG8.

What you will do

• Support Transmission Field Services with final commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned transmission-grid work.
• Review upcoming system outages for applicable transmission configuration changes.
• Review engineering drawings and project information to align systems of record with as-built conditions.
• Perform root cause analysis of system-of-record discrepancies and identify process improvements.
• Maintain accurate facility ratings and relay settings information in compliance with NERC and industry standards.
• Lead and coordinate engineering activities, meetings, training sessions, planning, scheduling, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least 2 years of related experience for SG7, or 4 or more years of related experience for Senior SG8.
• A master’s degree or PhD in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may qualify candidates for the applicable level with reduced experience.
• Engineering Technology graduates must obtain a certified Professional Engineer license.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred for SG8.
• Ability to work on site in New Albany, Ohio or Roanoke, Virginia and outside standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to analyze complex or conflicting data, interpret codes and regulations, communicate technical subjects, and coordinate the work of other engineers.
