Area Property Manager, Multifamily (Property Management)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, USA; regular travel to multiple property sites is required, with travel up to 25% of the time.

Salary: $93,500–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee operations across an assigned multifamily portfolio or multi-faceted property, including maintenance, capital improvements, leasing, collections, evictions, reporting, and audits.
• Manage community budgets, forecasting, expense control, service contracts, and financial performance.
• Supervise, interview, hire, develop, mentor, and lead on-site leasing, maintenance, customer service, and management staff.
• Drive leasing, marketing, renewals, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, prospects, ownership groups, vendors, Asset Managers, and Regional Property Managers.
• Coordinate special projects and ensure compliance with policies and procedures across assigned properties.

Requirements

• 5+ years of multifamily property management experience, including multi-site or area-level leadership.
• Supervisory and staff-management experience, including budgeting and financial planning.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
• High school diploma, GED, trade, technical, or vocational education required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• DC Property Manager license required within 60 days of employment if not held at hire.
• Ability to travel between properties, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and meet the role’s physical demands.

Nice to have

• Prior rent control experience in the Washington, DC market.
• Real estate license where required by state law.
