Dyehouse Laboratory Assistant (Textile Dyeing)

Location: Elgin IV30, UK; onsite rotational day, back, and occasional night shifts

Salary: £13.45 per hour plus shift pay allowance

What you will do

• Develop colour recipes and accurate shade matches for new and existing textile products.
• Prepare laboratory dye trials using dyes and chemical auxiliaries with precise weighing and formulation.
• Operate specialist laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers.
• Conduct colour fastness and other quality tests.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot colour issues with the Dyehouse and other departments.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures, prioritise workloads, and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a flexible approach to shift work.
• Commitment to housekeeping, health, and safety standards.
• Ability to provide evidence of the right to remain and take up paid employment in the UK.
• HNC/HND in a science-based subject or previous laboratory, textile, dyehouse, or manufacturing experience is advantageous; full training is provided.
