EHS Specialist (Life Sciences)

Location: On-site in Cambridge, United Kingdom

A life sciences organization providing biological reagents and solutions for research in areas including cancer, neurological disorders, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders.

What you will do

• Manage and enhance site EHS management systems, policies, procedures, and programs.
• Plan and lead internal EHS audits, including tracking and verifying corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead EHS initiatives and projects supporting regulatory compliance and corporate standards.
• Assess risk-based EHS training needs, develop training content, and deliver training for laboratory and operational teams.
• Coach site teams to identify hazards, evaluate risks, define controls, and improve safety performance.

Requirements

• Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as a NEBOSH National Certificate or equivalent.
• Extensive practical experience supporting a laboratory-based organization.
• Expertise with Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently, lead EHS initiatives, and collaborate across functions.
• Strong risk-based decision-making, planning, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the life sciences sector.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and R&D laboratory environments.
