Charging Engineer Specialist (Telco)

What you will do

• Provide second-level support for online charging solutions, including incident troubleshooting, repair actions, and vendor escalation.
• Perform proactive maintenance, daily walkthroughs, health checks, and network optimization to prevent incidents.
• Investigate service-related customer complaints within SLA using tracing, debugging, traffic analysis, and protocol analysis.
• Support service platform configuration, software rollouts, integrations, upgrades, and service request onboarding.
• Develop alarm-analysis procedures with first-line operations teams and ensure service resilience, monitoring, and continuity.
• Share technical knowledge and coordinate vendor support, engineering, delivery, and operations teams.

Requirements

• University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology.
• At least 2 years of telecommunications experience in a similar position.
• Hands-on experience with telecom service components and troubleshooting in problem and change management.
• Detailed knowledge of SS7, including MAP and CAMEL, Diameter, LDAP, SOAP, Wireshark traces, network-element traces, and logs.
• Good knowledge of 2G, 4G, and 5G mobile network architectures, VoLTE, and microservices architecture.
• English and Italian, spoken and written, are required. Strong communication and emergency-response skills are also expected.

Nice to have

• Scripting knowledge in Linux, Python, and Ansible.
• Database management knowledge, including Aerospike.
