Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; remote-friendly with no location-based output requirement

What you will do

• Lead and grow the development team while writing code and reviewing pull requests.
• Own sprint planning, code review standards, release processes, documentation, and overall engineering process maturity.
• Build practical engineering workflows for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness with the Head of Engineering.
• Mentor engineers, establish technical standards, and support career development.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to convert roadmap priorities into technical plans and sprint execution.
• Support onboarding, incident response, and production issues as Scout scales.

Requirements

• Meaningful experience as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, hands-on Team Lead, or Tech Lead.
• Direct experience leading or supporting SOC 2, SOC 1, or ISO 27001 readiness or certification.
• Strong backend or full-stack background with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node, and React.
• Experience remaining hands-on with coding and code review while leading a small team.
• Ability to build engineering processes from scratch in a lean, ambiguous, fast-growing environment.
• Agentic AI or LLM engineering experience and experience with Databricks.
