Head of Infrastructure Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Own Scout’s Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, identity, storage, cost, and scaling decisions.
• Architect infrastructure for reliable production-scale deployment across multiple airlines and industries.
• Design and own infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, load testing, performance, and reliability practices.
• Support data infrastructure and pipelines connecting the application with the Databricks data layer.
• Build security, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance-ready infrastructure for an enterprise B2B platform.
• Partner with engineering and leadership while managing infrastructure vendors and cloud costs.

Requirements

• Significant experience owning infrastructure or platform engineering at Director, Head, Principal, or Staff scope.
• Deep, hands-on Microsoft Azure expertise across compute, networking, identity, and storage is required.
• Experience making architecture and design decisions, including cloud migrations or building infrastructure from scratch.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
• Experience operating in a small infrastructure team and making independent cost and scaling decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an ambiguous, high-growth startup environment.

Nice to have

• Databricks experience and familiarity with data infrastructure pipelines.
• Experience preparing infrastructure for SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification.
• Aviation, safety, or EHS domain experience.
