Technical Business Analyst (Data Management)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid work from home or from the office

Provides software development, data management, risk and compliance, audit, and retail operations services to ING units worldwide from its Bucharest hub.

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into data logic, specifications, metadata, and validation criteria for data lake onboarding, structuring, modelling, and exposure.
• Define business terms using data catalogues and document data quality, lineage, privacy, security, and lifecycle requirements.
• Create workflow diagrams, data models, and functional and technical documentation.
• Align with architects on data lake design and ensure implementation follows the target architecture.
• Support DevOps engineers with functional expertise in resolving production incidents.
• Design and execute end-to-end functional test cases, manage stakeholder expectations, and identify improvements to data governance and delivery.

Requirements

• Ability to use SQL for medium-complexity queries and experience with databases and data warehouses.
• Experience as a technical business analyst in IT projects, including requirements gathering and technical and functional specification writing.
• Hands-on experience with data quality, data lineage, data security, data privacy, data lifecycle management, data issue remediation, and other data governance practices.
• Experience with banking products, processes, and services.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Business.

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of banking regulatory requirements.
