Summer Internship - Engineering 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States; full-time onsite for approximately May–August 2027. Relocation to Wichita is required for the internship.

hirify.global develops and supports commercial aircraft, with the Wichita engineering facility focused on aerostructure design and analysis for aircraft primary structures.

What you will do

• Support design engineering activities for aircraft production and in-service aircraft.
• Develop airframe design data, including 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of material, and change notes.
• Perform static, fatigue, damage tolerance, and finite element stress analyses for metallic and composite components.
• Contribute to detail part modeling and sizing, layout maturation, trade studies, weight reduction, certification activities, modifications, and repairs.
• Communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas, and work status to supervisors.
• Learn and apply engineering toolsets while developing solutions to routine technical problems.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of classical and numerical finite element stress analysis and design principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future need for visa sponsorship or work authorization sponsorship.
• Must be willing to relocate to Wichita, Kansas, for the duration of the summer internship.

Nice to have

• Coursework in airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, or CAD.
• Minor in Computer Science.
• Exposure to airframe design, MRB, CATIA, Isami, NASTRAN, or PATRAN.
