Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Product Management (AI)

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; hybrid work with in-office and/or in-person expectations.

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 USD per year, with a comprehensive benefits package.

What you will do

• Embed with product organization functions such as product operations, program management, UX design, and product management to understand real workflows and build relationships with function leaders and operators.
• Scope technical solutions, define architectures, and determine where AI agents can reduce toil while keeping human judgment and accountability in the loop.
• Build and ship production AI agents end to end using prompts, tools, retrieval, sub-agents, and integration code connected to live systems and data.
• Create evaluations, golden sets, and regression checks to measure the quality of non-deterministic systems and maintain auditability.
• Own reliability and safety in production, secure workflow approvals, and partner with security, IT, and data owners.
• Deliver time-boxed consulting engagements, enable handoffs, rotate across teams, and contribute reusable agent patterns and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience shipping production software and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt and context engineering, tool and function calling, retrieval, agent frameworks, evaluation of non-deterministic systems, and Model Context Protocol.
• Strong problem discovery, structured thinking, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in high ambiguity, explain technical limitations to non-technical stakeholders, and work across unfamiliar product functions.
• Ability to navigate security, IT, and data-owner reviews and deliver production systems through consulting-style engagements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cursor and Claude Code.
• Strong experience with LangGraph and/or LangSmith.
• Experience with other orchestration platforms and agent frameworks.
